Box 2009 <br /> I Stockton, CA 95201 <br /> Letter Resort <br /> Preliminary Field Investigation of Hydrocarbon Contamination <br /> ' Conducted for Royal Oak Savings <br /> Manteca, California <br /> Dear Mr. Crooks: <br /> Canonie recently completed the preliminary field and laboratory <br /> activities for identifying the nature of soil and ground water <br /> contamination at the site owned by Royal Oak Savings in Manteca, <br /> California. The activities began on April 7, 1986, and included the <br /> following efforts: <br /> o Drilling and installation of a monitoring well to a depth of <br /> approximately 25 feet below the ground surface. <br /> o Collection and analysis of soil and ground water samples. <br /> o Interpretation of preliminary findings. <br /> The results of the preliminary investigation are summarized below. <br /> Included are 1) a description of the field activities; 2) well completion <br /> details; 3) results of laboratory analyses of soil and water samples; and <br /> 4) interpretation of results. <br /> Protocol <br /> Procedures for drilling, sampling, and installation of the monitoring <br /> well were taken from the California Administrative Code, Title 23, <br /> Subchapter 16 - "Underground Storage Tank Regulations," Sections 2645, <br /> 2647, and 2648. The laboratory analytical procedures were those <br /> described by the EPA as Test Methods 8020 and 7421 suitable for <br /> hydrocarbon contamination found at the site. <br /> 1 <br />
