During the course of the investigation additional data was
gathered from other locations of suspected contamination. These locations
included a drinking water well, the area beneath a former 10,000 gallon above
ground storage tank (AST), an abandoned septic tank, a service pit, a waste
water sump and a storm water retention pond.
There is evidence to indicate that contamination is present from both the 1,000
gallon gasoline UST's and the 10,000 gallon diesel UST's. Diesel has been
confirmed in a soil sample from the area of the former 10,000 gallon UST at a
concentration of 81 parts per million (ppm). MTBE has been confirmed by EPA
Method 8260 at a concentration of .0082 ppm from the area of the 1,000 gallon
UST.
Samples with the highest concentrations of petroleum hydrocarbons discovered
at the site were obtained from soil and ground water beneath the former AST.
Diesel was detected in a soil sample at a concentration of 10,000 ppm and total
extractable petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in the ground water sample
at a concentration of 310,000 parts per billion (ppb).
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
