Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Attention: Diane Hinson
Re : 151.4 E. Market Street, Stockton
Hydrocarbon Evaluation Study dated April 26, 1988
Dear Ms . Hinson:
We are in receipt of your letter dated May 16 , 1988 concerning the
sub surface soils testing which Balbi and Chang Associates
performed for Roek Brothers at 1514 E. Market Street, Stockton, CA .
There seems to be some misunderstanding as to what Roek Brothers
is attempting to accomplish at this time,
Roek Brothers is attempting to sell a portion of the property it
owns located on Market Street between Wilson Way and Eugenia
Streets . ( see attached map)
Knowing that there had previously been a service station located
on the referenced property, one condition of the sale is to verify
the status of the sub surface soil , for which purpose Roek
Brothers employed Balbi and Chang..
The tanks had been removed 10 to 15 years ago from this property
and as Balbi and Chang' s report indicates there is some residue
remaining which Roek Brothers is attempting to correct .
There is also located on the property, the portion which Roek
Brothers is going to retain, ( see attached map) an existing fuel
tank. In January Roek Brothers paid the fee for permanent closure
to the San Joaquin Health District and intends to remove the tank
during 1988 .
