O.E.S.-Port Stockton <br /> 1950 Miner Avenue <br /> Noveaber 9, 1990 <br /> Page -2- <br /> Environmental Health Division was on site to observe the <br /> removal of the tank and to monitor sampling procedures . <br /> One 2 , 000-gallon tank (TK4 ) was removed from 1950 E. <br /> Miner Ave. (Figure 3 ) . The tank had contained diesel fuel . <br /> The soil surrounding the excavation consisted of a dark <br /> brown, clayey, loam from the ground surface to a depth of <br /> approximately 5 feet . Below the 5-foot depth was a brown, <br /> clayey, fine sand. There was no visible evidence of <br /> hydrocarbon contamination, no petroleum odor was noticed, <br /> and no groundwater was encountered in the excavation. The <br /> excavation was covered with two iron plates for safety and <br /> surrounded with temporary chain-link fencing following <br /> sampling procedures . <br /> No holes or pits were visible in tank TK4 . Two soil <br /> samples were taken directly from below the east and west <br /> ends of the tank at a depth of 12 feet and labeled TK4-E and <br /> TK4-W, respectively. <br /> At the completion of excavation procedures, Oil <br /> Equipment Service transported the tank to Triangle, Inc. , in <br /> Sacramento, California, for disposal . <br /> CONDOR <br />
