Beacon Station No. 3492• • December 27, 2006
Manteca, California Underground Storage Tanks Closure Report
USTs, product and vapor line trenches. Total lead concentrations in these samples
ranged from 1.12 to 4.51 ppm.
With the exception of a near -reporting -limit concentration of 0.0097 ppm xylenes
reported in stockpile soil sample SP4-A,B, no concentrations of TPHg, BTEX,
MTBE, DIPE, ETBE, TAME,TBA or methanol were reported in the four stockpile
composite soil samples. Ethanol concentrations ranging from 0.026 to 0.19 ppm
were reported in the four stockpile composite soil samples. Total lead concentrations
in stockpile soil samples ranged from 1.79 to 2.47 ppm.
Conclusions
Field observations and analytical results indicate site soils have not been impacted with
gasoline hydrocarbons. Horizon recommends that the site investigation be considered
complete and requires no further work.
Limitations
The methods and procedures utilized for this work were generally -accepted standards of the
practice of geology and environmental science in California at the time of the investigation.
This site investigation was conducted solely for the purpose of evaluating shallow soil
conditions with respect to the former UST systems. No soil engineering or geotechnical
references are implied nor should any such references be inferred. The evaluation of
environmental conditions at the site, for purposes of this investigation, was made utilizing a
limited number of observation points. Subsurface conditions may vary some distance away
from the available observation points. This report is the property of Horizon Environmental
Inc. and Ultramar Inc. and is for their sole use and distribution.
Please call Horizon at (916) 939-2170 should you have any questions regarding this report.
Sincerely,
V w RExFORD K SMITH
NO. 53 97 Q V.I.0
Rexford Smith, PG No. 530 11f 0} Q Emil D.
