Stacy Rivera [EH]
From: Marty Weithman <martyw@servicestationsystems.com>
Sent: Tuesday, May 15, 2018 8:04 AM
To: Stacy Rivera [EH]
Subject: RE:4219 Morada Ln., Stockton - Boot replacement
Hi Stacy,
I contacted ICON (855-379-7867) and spoke to Gary Clark(technical support) about the equipment used in the repair
(ICON 3.5x2.4 boot). He advised me that the ICON boot is question is commonly referred to as a test boot. This is exactly
what the technician termed it and is what our Service manager refers to it as. Evidently the "test boot"term is
commonly used for this equipment even if it is used in a VPH system.
If you or your agency considers this equipment not to be a test boot, strictly speaking for whatever reason, and insist
that a retroactive permit be obtained, I will comply. Please understand that we had no desire to avoid pulling any
required permits, nor have any desire to deceive your agency about the work done at the site. In my view, there was no
mistake made at the time and there should be no penalty involved.
Please let me know if you insist on a permit application. If so, I will submit one right away with the standard application
fee. But I request that you clarify in your permit requirements that "test boots' on VPH systems require a permit, going
forward.
Thanks for your help.
Marty Weithman
Permit Compliance Officer
Service Station Systems/Able Maintenance Inc
680 Quinn Ave. San Jose CA 95112
408-213-6038
martyw()servicestationsystems.com
[This email including any attachments is confidential and may contain legally privileged information.
