PACIFIC GAS AND ELECTRIC COMPANY
 IM + 375 NORTH WIGET LANE SUITE #130 WALNUT CREEK, CALIFORNIA 94598 (415) 9437986
MARVIN E. BENNETT
MANAGER March 5, 1986
PIPE LINE OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT
Mr. Jogi Khanna
San Joaquin Local Health District
P.O. Box 2009
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Mr. Khanna:
Attached is a completed Underground Tank Operating Permit Application and a
check for $206.00 payable to the San Joaquin County Local Health District.
This Permit Application and filing fee is required to operate a 1,000-gallon
gasoline storage tank at PGandE's Tracy Maintenance Station near Tracy,
California.
Recently, Mr. Todd Hogenson of my staff spoke to Mr. Ron Valinoti regarding
two other tanks located at this PGandE facility. During this conversation
both parties agreed that PGandE should not be required to permit these tanks
for the following reasons:
- Container Number 11063 contains tri-butyl mercaptan, commonly referred
to as natural gas odorant. This tank operates under the same pressure
as our natural gas pipelines (approximately 400 psi.) and thus it
should be operated and permitted as such.
- Container number 11065 which contains natural gas condensate is located
above ground. The secondary containment structure beneath this tank
lies partially below grade and as a result the tank was inadvertently
registered with the State.
If you have any further questions regarding underground tanks at this facility
please contact Mr. Todd Hogenson at (415) 943-7986.
Sincerely
TRHogenson(783-220) :wvw
cc: GWRowe Y
LLBeagle I
RCGirard MAR 6 r 1988 Ld
Attachments SAN JOAQUIN LOCAL
-AI TH f1ISTR1r-.
