That same <br /> conversation revealed that approximately 3 gallons of brine have been added in the past <br /> two months to the 87 tank annular space due to low brine level. <br /> Violation: <br /> Health and Safety Code(HSC) section 25291(a) (2) Secondary containment shall be <br /> constructed to prevent structural weakening as a result of contact with any released <br /> hazardous substances, and also shall be capable of storing the hazardous substances for <br /> the maximum anticipated period of time necessary for the recovery of any released <br /> hazardous substance. <br /> HSC section 25291 (b)The underground tank(UST) system shall be designed and <br /> constructed with a monitoring system capable of detecting the entry of the hazardous <br /> substance stored in the primary containment into the secondary containment. <br /> Corrective Action: <br /> 1)Pursuant to California Code of Regulations(CCR) section 2650 (e), immediately <br /> investigate the brine loss in the 87 annular space. If unable to repair or determine the <br /> cause of loss,product shall be removed from UST until monitoring of UST is <br /> approved by EHD pursuant to CCR section 2651 (e). <br /> 2) Immediately,repair the 87 annular sensor with a permit from this office. <br /> Please be advised that failure to correct the violation will cause continuingladditional <br /> violations and may result in further legal action. <br /> If you have any questions,please contact Muniappa Naidu, Senior REHS, at(209)468- <br /> 3439. f <br /> fv� <br /> Muniappa Naidu, Senior REHS <br />
