' -NOV 7 ' 9a 13: 34 FRONRC?ERTIES PACE . 003 <br /> � <br /> RESPONSE PLAN <br /> In the event a suspected unauthorized release of product from an underground <br /> storage tank has occurred in the secondary containment area of the tank the <br /> following procedures will occur: <br /> 1. The maintenance supervisor on duty will immediately go to the control <br /> panel in the event the Leak Sensing System alarm goes off. <br /> 2. In the event of any alarm, the shop supervisor on duty will immediately <br /> contact the Environmental Services Department at the general office by <br /> referring to the telephone alert roster included in the locations Spill <br /> Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plan. The supervisor on duty will <br /> also immediately contact the maintenance shop manager. <br /> 3. The maintenance supervisor on duty will inspect the TLS-2501 control <br /> panel and determine if the alarm is the result of a failed sensor or a fuel <br /> and/or water leak. <br /> 4. If the alarm is the result of a sensor failure, the local Veeder-Root <br /> representative will be contacted and the sensor will either be repaired or <br /> replaced. The telephone number for the local Veeder-Root representative <br /> is Shields Harper and Co.(205)-462-9211. <br /> 5. If the alarm is the result of a suspected fuel and/or water failure, the <br /> maintenance supervisor on duty will immediately shut down the use of the <br /> underground storage tank. The supervisor will also insure all pumps that <br /> may be associated with the tank that has the suspected failure are turned <br /> off at the circuit breaker. <br /> 6. The maintenance supervisor on duty, with the assistance of an <br /> environmental services representative, will contact the local licensed waste <br /> hauler and/or product delivery supplier to be contracted with at a later date <br /> (prior to facility opening)to extract the product from the annular space. The <br /> hauler and/or product supplier will have the necessary equipment to <br /> remove the product via the tanks fiberglass reservoir and 2" riser pipe. <br /> 7. The maintenance supervisor will also immediately take steps to remove <br /> the product in the tank itself by contacting the local licensed waste hauler <br /> and the product delivery supplier. <br /> 8. The maintenance supervisor on duty will also contact the local Veeder- <br /> Root representative to check out the system and verify a release has <br /> occurred and was not equipment failure. <br /> 9. In the event local haulers and/or product suppliers(to be contracted with <br /> at a later date) are not available, Yellow Freight System has available an <br /> emergency response contractor available. This contractor is Ecology and <br /> Environment, and they can be reached at(716) 684-8060 or (716) 684- <br /> 8940. BCW <br />
