(VATC <br /> A S S O C I A T E S I N C . <br /> SUMMARY REPORT OF <br /> SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION <br /> AT <br /> VELLA PROPERTY <br /> 1113 SHAW ROAD <br /> STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA <br /> 1.0 INTRODUCTION <br /> ATC Associates Inc. has prepared this letter report, on behalf of Mr. Joseph Vella to summarize <br /> findings of the subsurface investigation performed at private property located at 1113 Shaw Road <br /> in Stockton, California (Figure 1). The purpose of the subsurface investigation was to determine <br /> if soil had been impacted by the use of three underground storage tanks (USTs) located at the site <br /> since 1985. The findings of the subsurface investigative study are summarized in the following <br /> paragraphs. <br /> 1_1 Site Location <br /> The site is located on the west side of Shaw Road and north of Fremont Street in Stockton, <br /> California, as shown on Figure 1. The site is currently occupied by Bobcat Central, a retailer of <br /> small construction equipment. <br /> 1_2 Background <br /> The site contained one 550-gallon waste oil UST, one 2,000-gallon gasoline UST, and one <br /> 2,000-gallon diesel UST. The USTs were installed in 1985 and are constructed of double-v alled <br /> steel with interstitial monitoring devices. According to Mr. Don Franzia, the property owner, the <br /> USTs are tested annually for integrity and they are currently permitted by the San Joaquin <br /> County Public Health Services Environmental Health Division (PHS/EHD). The USTs are <br /> located in the northwest comer of the site as shown on Figure 2. <br /> 2.0 METHODS AND PROCEDURES <br /> To determine if soil had been impacted at the site, a total of two soil borings were advanc d in <br /> the vicinity of the USTs. All field activities were performed in accordance with C's <br /> Workplan for Subsurface Investigation at Bobcat Central, 1113 Shaw Road, Stockton, <br /> California,dated April 18, 2001. <br /> w:\90754\br55\5506\sum.doc 1 <br />
