Jeff Wong [EH]
From: Jeff Wong [EH]
Sent: Monday, November 17, 2014 11:11 AM
To: Kasey Foley [EH]
Subject: FW: Results/EDD/Invoice - LINDEN UST Removal (1403251) - State Route
Attachments: image001.jpg;ATT00001.htm; 1403251.pdf,ATT00002.htm; 1403251.xls;ATT00003.htm;
inv0015101.pdf;ATT00004.htm; 1403251 reanalysis.pdf
K:
Clem sent me the results:they ran the first sample (1403251.pdf) and came back high in Pb:
110 mg/kg total
25 mg/L STLC
0.078 mg/L TCLP; therefore HW for STLC.
Clem didn't like it and had a 2"a sample analyzed (1403251 reanalysis): 72 mg/kg total, and 2.1 mg/L STLC;therefore non
HW.
So is this 2 n composite sample acceptable? He's trying to use the sample to cover everything to be hauled as non-HW:
content, the tank itself(pieces of it anyway), and any kind of"dry-scrapping" (in place of triple rinse).
Reference limits:
TTLC: 1000 mg/kg
STLC: 5 mg/L(X10= 50)
TCLP: 5 mg/L(x20= 100)
— ------------------------------------- -----From: Goewert, Clemens@DOT [mailto:clemens.goewert(&dot.ca.gov]
Sent: Thursday, November 13, 2014 10:16 AM
To: Jeff Wong [EH]
Cc: Bob Kimball
Subject: FW: Results/EDD/Invoice - LINDEN UST Removal (1403251) - State Route
Jeff,
Attached is the analytical results for the initial sampling of the tank contents.
Some of the metal concentrations confused us. Geocon then had the lab recomposite the tank contents
samples, while making sure there was no metal from the tank in the soil sample. The result of the reanalysis
for lead is attached. The lead concentrations totally changed.
Bob Kimball is checking with Ostrom Landfill to accept the waste.
Bob found the bottom of the tank was in poor condition, and may not be recyclable.
Please review the results.
Contact me, if you have questions.
1
