The SSHO shall be <br /> notified of any on-site emergencies and be responsible for ensuring that the appropriate <br /> procedures are followed. <br /> PERSONNEL INJURY: <br /> Upon notification of an injury, the SSHO will assess the nature of the injury. If the cause of <br /> the injury does not affect the performance of site personnel, operations may continue, with <br /> the appropriate on-site field personnel initiating the appropriate First-Aid and necessary follow- <br /> up. If the injury increases the risk to others, all field personnel shall be moved to a safe <br /> location until further instructions. <br /> Activities on site will stop until the added risk is removed or minimized. <br /> FIRE/EXPLOSION: <br /> In the event of a fire or explosion on site, the Fire Department well be summoned. All site <br /> personnel shall assemble at "rally point" a safe distance from the involved area. <br /> PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT FAILURE: <br /> If any site worker experiences a failure or alteration of protective equipment that effects the <br /> protection factor, that person shall immediately stop that particular work activity and repair or <br /> replace the failure. Should the failure of the personal protection equipment be unrepairable, <br /> and then that worker will stop that work activity and report the failure to the SSHO. That site <br /> worker will be reassigned to other work activity not requiring that particular PPE and shall not <br /> 11/07/2005 revision 5 14 <br />
