The Conversion Frame Retrofit Plate Kit is required only in very specific situations where existing
electrical conduits are locked in concrete just outside the UDC opening. In this case, in order for the
UDSCCS (CONY-B2000 Dispenser Conversion Frame) to be installed and function properly, holes
must be cut or drilled in the conversion frame to accommodate the existing conduit lines and
components such as E-Y adapters. Bravo ensures environmental compliance by providing a fiberglass
plate kit that is permanently bonded onto the conversion frame panels to cover the holes/cuts and to
also seal directly to the conduit lines using fiberglass epoxy. The installation of this Retrofit Plate kit
maintains the design and function of the drainage panels by directing any leaks from within the
hydraulic cabinet —especially any fluids that may run down or along conduit lines— and channeling
them into the interior of the UDC below.
Below is an image of a large dispenser and a small UDC. This is exactly the type of situation our
conversion frame was designed to accommodate in 1991 but during this time conduit lines were
traditionally installed into the sump below ground using a type of penetration fitting. In this case as you
can see, the conduits were concreted in on both sides of the UDC. This is the problem.
The conduits cannot be moved or offset so we must accommodate them where they exist. As you can
see, they intersect the steel framing of the conversion frame, which is total-welded steel and is not
modular in any way. So if there is a conduit line, explosion proof elbow or E-Y connector then these
specific shapes must be cut out of the conversion frame so that it can be lowered over all existing
components without interference.
i
r
3 ii-CONY-Retrofit-Plate-12B - 9/24/2012
