•
A. 522 Remote Monitoring System
The purpose of the 522 Remote Monitoring System is to receive alarm signals from the
Beaudreau Model 500 Series sensors. The 522 Monitor receives alarms from the 500
Series sump and dispenser impact sensors by monitoring the AC power line for signals
transmitted by the 500C Controller operating each dispenser's sensors. If a sensor detects
a fuel leak or water accumulation in the sump,or if a dispenser impact occurs, the 500C
Controller system will generate a signal on the AC power line that will be received by the
522 Monitor. The 522 Monitor will receive the signal and then provide a visual and
audible alarm signal and will also open a relay output for alerting a third-party
monitoring system(such as the Veeder-Root TLS-350) when a fuel or impact alarm has
occurred. The 522 Monitor can also be used with the 522 Serial Relay Interface System
for shutting off power to the affected dispenser or to the submersible turbine pumps. This
is done in one of two ways(1)by opening the 522 Relay Boxes that feed each dispenser
or(2)by opening a single relay to alert a Brown Box(pre-fab electrical panel w/
integrated dispenser power control modules) to shut off power.
How the 522 Remote Monitoring System Works
522 Remote Monitor
m
(located inside station)
500C Controller SysteSignal Transmission
Across AC Power Line Monitors power line for fuel, water orrm
Sensors Detect Fuel,Water or impact alas.
Dispenser Impact
Provides visual and audible alarm.
Controller Triggers Shear Valves if Fuel
or High Water Detected Interfaces with Brown electrical system or
522 Serial Relays for shutting off power
Controller Transmits all Alarms across to affected dispensers or submersible
AC power line to 522 Remote turbine pumps.
Monitoring System
Provides relay contact output for
signaling TLS-350 or other third-party
monitoring system of a dispenser
problem.
Page 2
