Box 2009 ENVPT2RMITISERVICES
Stockton, CA 95201
Dear Pam:
Sorry we traded messages this morning and couldn't make
contact. I an going to be at a California Manufacturers
Association conference the rest of the week (leaving at noon
today) so I guess this is the best way to get my message to
you.
On Friday, when I left a message for you, I had two subjects
that I wanted to discuss: 1) that I had selected a bidder for
removal of the courtyard tanks and 2) that the analyses of
samples taken from monitoring wells around the large oil tank
in June came back positive (although just above the detection
level) for total petroleum hydrocarbons. Unfortunately, when
you called back on Monday, item 2 slipped my mind.
5Ao kl IV ppM
I am enclosing copies of ;sults. FGL analyzed for
TPH at a detection level f .5ppb.> All of the prior analyses
performed by other laborat had been using a detection
level of 1.0. As you can see, the results for Monitoring
Well 01 were 1.1, Well #2 was at .9, well #3 was also at .9
and Well #4 was dry. This "positive" finding could be due to
the increased rainfall, the spill that we had in February
when the tank was overfilled or possibly have been there all
along, but just under the previous detectable levels:.
we are inclined to have the wells resampled and tested again
at least for TPH, but before doing so, I wanted to get an
indication from you of the seriousness with which the County
would view a result of this magnitude.
Please give me a call after you have reviewed the attached
information. You can either leave a message on my voice mail
or if you wish to talk to me in person, I will be back in the
office on Monday morning from 7:30 AM until 11:00 AM.
Mike kogge
