INTRODUCTION
This Annual Groundwater Monitoring Report has been prepared by American
Environmental Management Corporation (AEMC) for Newark Sierra Paperboard,
Corporation (NSPC) to investigate the groundwater conditions at their facility (site)
located at 800 West Church Street, Stockton, California.
This report has been prepared in response to a request by the California Regional Water
Quality Control Board-Central Valley Region (RWQCB-CV) to monitor the existing wells
located adjacent to a 5,300 barrel, below ground concrete storage tank for the presence of
petroleum hydrocarbons in the groundwater. Figure 1 illustrates the site location, and
Figure 2 shows the locations of the wells. AEMC installed Monitoring Wells MW-1, 2 and
3 on 16 December 1988; and, Monitoring Well MW-4 on 27 March 1990. The wells are 2-
inch diameter and are constructed of Schedule 40, Polyvinyl-Chloride (PVC) pipe. The
PVC slotted screen was approximately 5-feet long except for MW-4 which had a screen
length of 10-feet. The top of the screened interval began at depth 25.5 feet in MW-1,
25 feet in MW-2, 24.5 feet in MW-3 and 15 feet in MW-4. The previous sampling of the
monitoring wells was completed by AEMC on 14 March 1991.
rmpm(wz) Page 1
AMERICAN
