Petroleum hydrocarbon <br /> concentrations were detected in soil samples collected during inplace closure operations at <br /> the Newark Sierra Paperboard Corporation. <br /> American Environmental Management Corporation(AEMC) has discontinued inplace <br /> closure operations and recommends that the tanks, sump, and a portion of the No. 6 fuel <br /> pipeline be excavated and removed. Removal operations should help better define the <br /> quantity of fuel product that may have been released. <br /> If you are in agreement with this report, please notify AEMC as to that fact and we will <br /> prepare a new closure report for submittal to the San Joaquin County Department of <br /> Environmental Health. <br /> If you have any questions, please contact Michael Stephens or me at (916) 364-8872. <br /> j <br /> rely, Is F.
