Box 2009
Stockton CA 95201
NEWARK SIERRA COMPANY (FORMERLY GOLD BOND), 800 WEST CHURCH STREET,
STOCKTON - CLOSURE PLAN FOR TANKS AND PIPELINE
We have reviewed the 9 October 1989 Closure Plan prepared by American
Environmental Management Corp. , for in-place closure of two underground
storage tanks, a sump, and an underground pipeline at this site.
The proposed closure plan appears adequate to comply with the requirements
of the underground storage tank regulations. However, thereisan order-
of-magnitude error in the volume determination for the capacity of the
underground pipeline. This should be brought to the attention of the site
operator so that adequate capacity will be provided during closure of the
pipeline.
If contamination is detected in soil samples obtained during the tank and
pipeline closure, a ground water investigation may be necessary to
determine whether the discharge has impacted ground water.
If you have any questions, please call me at (916) 361-5731 .
THOMAS D. PELTIER
Engineering Geologist
TDP/tdp
