Weiss nssoculEs M()
SUMMARY
Weiss Associates (WA) collected and analyzed samples from soil beneath propylene
glycol storage tanks 1, 5 and 6 and sodium dichromate/calcium chloride storage Tanks 7 and
8. Propylene and ethylene glycol were detected in the samples beneath Tanks I and 6, but not
in the samples beneath Tank 5. Only hexavalent chromium in the samples beneath Tank 8
exceeded California Department of Health Services (DHS) Soluble Threshold Limit
Concentrations (STLC). The chromium, calcium and chloride concentrations in the Tank 8
samples exceeded the background concentrations of these compounds in native soil. The
analytic results for the Tank 7 samples were similar to background concentrations in native
soil.
F:\ALL\331D W G\331L1FE9.W P Page iv
