(AGE) has prepared this report for the removal of three underground storage
tanks (USTs) performed at 701 East Charter Way, Stockton, California. Soil samples were collected
beneath the USTs and product piping. Impacted soil was excavated for the installation of one new
UST. The site location is illustrated on Figure 1 - Location :1fop. BACKGROUND
The site is located in a commercial area of low topographic relief in Stockton, California on the
northeast corner of Charter Way and Stanislaus Street. It is the understanding of AGE that two
12.000 -gallon single -walled gasoline USTs were installed at the site in 1972. One 1,000 -gallon
double -walled UST was installed at the site at a later time.
On 19 June 1997, four soil probe borings were advanced at the site near the 12,000 -gallon USTs .
Petroleum hydrocarbons were detected in soil samples collected near the southeast corner of the
USTs. Soil probe boring installations were described in a Preliminary Site Assessment Report
prepared by AGE in August 1997.
3.0. PROCEDURES
3.1.
