This site was previously sampled on February 1,20002. Sample <br /> analysis results showed one sample (1 @ 2-2.5') with 31 ppb MTBE.The proposed <br /> ti sampling will obtain soil samples from-beneath the sample obtained in February, <br /> Sample Collection <br /> The soil samples will be obtained either.with abackhoe or a hand auger. if a <br /> backhoe is used, the sample will be collected from the lower front of the bucket <br /> near the teeth by hammering a six-inch brass tube in the soil. if the hand auger is <br /> used, a 20-pound slide hammer Zvi th a sarnpling shoe and a clears brass tube . <br /> insert will be used to obtain the sample..Expected sampling depth will.be a <br /> minimum of 8 feet SCS. Teflon tape and plastic caps are then placed over the ; <br /> tube ends. The tubes�a.re then labeled and placed on ice for transport to the <br /> testing laboratory for certified chernical analysis.A chain of custody fizrn will <br /> accompany the samples to the lab. <br />
