Elm Street (Public Safety Building) and
1331 S. Ham Lane ( Municipal Service Center) sites. Listed below are responses to the
selected items that are yet to be completed or have recently been completed.
Public Safety Building (PSB)
Item 1 We would still like to complete the abandonment of this tank according to the
original plan and would like to hear from you concerning our latest proposal of
May 20, 1998.
Item 7 Enclosed is a copy of the final report from the corrosion specialists
(Blackstone Group) stating that all tanks at this location are now receiving adequate
cathodic protection.
Item 8 The final word from the Emco-Wheaton representative, the manufacturer of our
current overfill protection equipment, is that our current equipment is not listed as
approved equipment by CARB and no modifications are available for this equipment to
make it acceptable. Therefore, we would like to move ahead with the removal of our
existing overfill protection valve and drop tubes and install an approved system as soon
as possible.
Municipal Service Center (MSC)
Item 1 As mentioned earlier, the monitoring panel for the waste oil tank has been
placed into working condition, however, the additional probe has not been installed. We
would like to have the additional probe installed at the same time as the overfill
valve/drop tube work is done.
LSJHealth
