TEST RESULTS
Data for our testing are tabulated on the attached sheet. Test wire voltages with less than
—1.0 volts are not functioning. The data in the "Tank ON" column indicates the levels of
CP for each tank with the system connected. The data in the "I" column indicates the total
current presently being supplied by the anodes.
CONCLUSIONS
Analysis of this data indicates that all tanks at the Public Safety Building and Municipal
Service Center are more negative than —0.850 volts and meet or exceed the
aforementioned criteria. This indicates that the tanks are receiving proper levels of CP at
this time.
RECOMMENDATIONS
While the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations mandate testing
conducted on three-year intervals to determine the effectiveness of the installed systems,
experience and good engineering practice dictate that an assessment be made on an
annual basis. This interval will also monitor the life expectancy of these magnesium
anodes recently connected. We would recommend an annual assessment for the next one
to two years to trend the performance of the system. Estimated costs to test the systems
and provide a report is $600.00.
The annual inspection of the cathodic protection systems should consist of structure-to
soil potential measurements, current output of the anode beds, and a summary report to
include field data and recommendations as required.
We appreciate this opportunity to be of service to you on this project and look forward to
working with City of Lodi on future projects.
