Dennis Catanyag [EH]
From: Mark Zollo [mzollo@lodi.gov]
Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2005 4:53 PM
To: Dennis Catanyag [EH]
Subject: RE: City of Lodi, MSC, Additional Testing
Dennis,
We will ask Ron Bianchetti to contact you directly. I think this will be easier and more
accurate than my relaying the information to you second hand.
Mark
-----Original Message-----
From: Dennis Catanyag [EH] [mailto:dcatanyag@sjcehd.com]
Sent: Tuesday, March 01, 2005 10:05 AM
To: Mark Zollo
Subject: RE: City of Lodi, MSC, Additional Testing
Mark,
I had spoken to my lead about the results of the testing at 1331 Ham Lane. I was wondering
if it was possible to get a statement from the cathodic protection specialist about the
results and more importantly about the impact of the untestable or failed components to
the UST system. We were hoping to get a statement before the testing on Friday.
Dennis
-----Original Message-----
From: Mark Zollo [mailto:mzollo@lodi.gov]
Sent: Friday, February 25, 2005 12:48 PM
To: Dennis Catanyag [EH]
Cc: Richard Prima; Dennis Callahan
Subject: FW: City of Lodi, MSC, Additional Testing
Dennis,
We began the corrections at 1331 S. Ham Ln. this week.
Mr. Bianchetti, the engineer/corrosion specialist, was mistaken in regard to the pump
conduit connection for the 10,000 gallon unleaded tank. Mr. Bianchetti thought that the
diesel tank pump, which tested well, was separated from the rigid electrical conduit by a
length of vinyl flexible conduit, which isolated the tank's cathodic system from the
electrical system. Mr. Bianchetti suggested changing the conduit on the unleaded tank to
flex as well. However, the diesel tank conduit, which does appear to be flexible vinyl,
is rigid conduit fashioned in a tight bend. This matches the engineered plans for the
project. The City's Building Official reviewed the plans for the installation project and
confirmed that the connection to the tank should be rigid conduit bonded/grounded back to
the panel (Class 1, Division 2, if I recall correctly) .
I sent Mr. Bianchetti an e-mail and fax requesting follow-up investigation (e-mail,
below) .
Mr. Bianchetti scheduled next Friday, 3/4/05, 9:00 a.m. , at 1331 S. Ham Lane, to
investigate further and identify the problem and solution(s) .
1
