Approximately 130' tons of soil removed from <br /> above the UGT.during'the:removal process was placed in two soil stockpiles. Diesel <br /> .- odors were noted in the soil excavated"from immediately around the fillport of the UGT. <br /> An adjacent 20,000-gallon diesel-UGT was left in place and upgraded to current <br /> requirements including double walled piping and spill containment. <br /> Immediately-after the UST removal, soil samples;were obtained from below the removed <br /> UST and,soil stockpiles. Three soil samples were obtained from below the removed <br /> UST, at'a depth of approximately.14 feet below the ground surface (Samples TS 1, TS2, <br /> and TS3).' Four samples-were obtained from each of the two soil stockpiles (SP1 through <br /> SP4 and SP5 through SP8): <br /> Oil supply pipelines andpipelines to a previously removed dispenser were discovered <br /> during. the -UST removal: The pipelines were .removed on October 1, 1997. The <br /> approximately. 25 tons- of soil removed--from- above the pipelines- was placed in a <br /> stockpile. Soil samples were obtained from below the removed pipelines, former location- <br /> of <br /> ocationof the dispenser, and the stockpile the same day. Seven soil samples were obtained <br />
