Implement chemical — <br /> specific monitoring for chemical <br /> delineation and PPE selection <br /> verification. Establish contamination <br /> control zone. — <br /> Oxygen <19.5 % OX <19.5 °% Evacuate work zone for 15 minutes. <br /> Assess condition of worksite for cause <br /> of deficit. Remonitor for oxygen — <br /> content and return only if > 19.5 %. <br /> Combustibles <20% LEL CGI >20% LEL Remove all ignition sources. Evacuate <br /> (sustained) work area. All non-essential personnel <br /> should remain outside work area until <br /> conditions deemed safe. <br /> CHEMICAL-SPECIFIC MONITORING <br /> Benzene <1.0 ppm Drager Tube >1.0 ppm PPE Level C; Ventilate and evacuate <br /> (confirmed at least work area for at least 15 minutes, <br /> two times) then resample. If levels still >1.0 <br /> ppm and <10 ppm, continue Level C <br /> PPE and monitoring. If level >20 ppm <br /> for 15 minutes, implement emergency <br /> response. <br /> Hydrogen Sulfide <10 ppm CGI >10 ppm PPE Level C; Ventilate and evacuate <br /> (confirmed) work area for at least 15 minutes, <br /> then resample. If levels are >11 0 ppm <br /> and <100 ppm, continue level C PPE. <br /> If level >300 ppm, implement <br /> emergency response. <br /> Vinyl Chloride <1.0 ppm Drager Tube >1.0 ppm(con- PPE Level C; Ventilate and evacuate <br /> firmed) work area for at least 15 minutes, <br /> then resample.
