PSI SJC EHD Response Page 2:
#49 CCR 66265.16 Personal records incomplete.
In reviewing our training records the inspectors noted that the job title was not listed on the
completed training records for the two employees that handle the hazardous waste at our
facility. We have modified the safety training log/record to include the job titles of all of our
employees, including the ones that handle hazardous waste. Attached to this response is a
copy of the new for the two employees that specifically handle hazardous waste at the PSI
facility. This new form will be used in the safety training that will occur later this year.
This completes the response to the four violations Process Specialties received from the SJC
EHD during their inspection on 6/28/2011. Attached are the signed return to compliance form
and the copies of the new training record log sheets with the job description on them
Last we wanted the EHD to note that Process Specialties has been involved in a hazardous
waste reduction program starting in 2011. 1 am pleased to report that for the months of May,
June and now July of this year we have been able to keep our waste disposal below the
1000kg per month total, and during these months (including the month of your inspection) we
have been a small quantity generator. We are doing our best with this and while we may not
be able to hold that level for all months of the year (because of the weight of the sulfuric acid
waste we generate mostly), we are working hard to stay below the LOG level.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
Best regards, l
Edward Morris
VP Engineering
Process Specialties, Inc.
1660 W.
