Report Avenue site (Western Farm Service, Inc.) will take place from 21 August
to 1 September 2006. GeoSyntec Consultants(GeoSyntec) and a representative om
Adventus Americas will be on-site to oversee all field activities. Grouting o€bor-holes
advanced using cone-penetrometer testing(CPT)rods for the purposed of injectiig the
EHCTM will be conducted per ASTM standard D 5299 and in accordance with Sin
Joaquin County Environmental Health Department regulations.
The target depth of the CPT injection points will range from 60 to 80 feet belowr round
surface (ft bgs), depending on site conditions and equipment capabilities, and wibe
advanced by a CPT rig operated by Gregg Drilling and Testing,Inc. Followingessure
injection of EHCTM through the 2-inch diameter rod at a pre-marked location, a w rod
will be advanced to the target depth at the adjacent location. The rod used for th
previous injection will be capped and left in the ground to prevent migration of tte
EHCTM from the adjacent borehole during pressure injection. f
k
GeoSyntec will notify the San Joaquin County Environmental Health Dep artm prior to
grouting activities in order for a County representative to be on-site to inspect th
procedures. The grouting material will consist of a bentonite slurry mixture. Po dered
bentonite and distilled water will be mixed aboveground to form a slurry, with a i
minimum 20% solids content and a density of 9.5 lb/gal. Following removal of t le rod, a
weighted sounder will be used to confirm the bottom depth of the borehole prior o
emplacing the slurry mixture using a tremie-pipe to prevent channeling. All boreholes
will be grouted from the injection depth to ground surface. Additional slurry will be
added to the borehole per any amount that is lost into the formation. #
l
t
i
4
