Nickerson <br /> Unocal Asset Management Group <br /> 2121 North California Blvd., Suite 250 <br /> Walnut Creek, CA 94596 <br /> WORK PLAN FOR WESTERN FARM SERVICE (FORMER PUREGROIBREA FACILITY), <br /> 1905 NORTH BROADWAY AVENUE, STOCKTON, SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY <br /> In our 15 December 1997 letter, we requested that Unocal submit a work plan by 15 January <br /> 1998 for installation of an additional monitoring well downgradient of monitoring well MW-9. <br /> During a 5 February 1998 telephone call, Mr. Eric Chase of Sierra Pacific Groundwater <br /> Consultants, Inc., your consultant, requested that additional groundwater monitoring be <br /> performed to evaluate whether contaminants levels in well MW-9 were consistent, and therefore, <br /> warranted an additional downgradient well. I agreed to the extension, and we agreed on a <br /> deadline of 8 May 1998 to determine whether a downgradient well was needed. <br /> During our 12 May 1998 telephone conversation, Mr. Chase stated that contaminant levels in <br /> well MW-9 showed that an additional downgradient well is needed.
