First-Quarter 1995, • •
Quarterly Monitoring Report
Former PureGro/Brea Facility
1905 North Broadway Avenue,Stockton,California
Sierra-Pacific Project No.94-055.4
' 3.0 RESULTS
' 3.1 Ground-Water Chemistry
Concentrations of 4.5, 44, and 0.59, 4e 1,2-DCP were detected in ground-water samples
' collected from on-site wells MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3, respectively. No 1,2-DCP was detected
in the ground-water sample from MW-4. Off-site wells, MW-5 and MW-6, are located about
t300 feet west of the PureGroBrea site. A trace (1.1 4f) of 1,2-DCP was detected in the water
sample from MW-5. A ground-water sample from MW-6 contained 80 4f (Table 3).
' Traces of tetrachloroethene (PCE) were detected in ground-water samples from on-site
' monitoring wells (MW-1, MW-2, and MW-3) and off-site well MW-6. No PCE was detected
in well MW-4 or off-site well MW-5 (Table 3). Traces of chloroform were detected in ground-
water samples from MW-3, MW-5 and MW-6. Traces of dibromochloromethane were detected
in water from MW-4. Traces of bromochloromethane were detected in water from MW-6.
Nitrogen (N) concentrations (where, N = TKN + N-as-NO,), ranging from 10 to 56 mg/f N,
twere detected in water samples from each of the Broadway Avenue monitoring wells, including
the up-gradient well (MW-3). Virtually all of the nitrogen present in ground-water samples
' appears to be present as ammonium (NH4) and nitrate (NO3) anions.
' 3.2 Water Level Data and Predicted Flow Directions
Water level data indicated that ground water was flowing S 700 W on 30 December 1994, with
' a gradient of about 0.17 feet vertically per 100 feet horizontally (Tables 1 and 2). The ground-
'
' 3
