PUREGRO/BREA GROUNDWATER INVESTIGATION - 2 -
Section 3.6: Groundwater Sampling
Due to the number of compounds to be analyzed, you will need to collect
more sample than one VOA vial from each well .
Section 5.0: Laboratory Analysis
EPA holding times must be met for all soil and water analyses. This
includes the 48-hour holding time for nitrate-nitrogen in water.
Section 5. 1: Quarterly Groundwater Monitoring
The compounds to be analyzed during the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarter
sampling events are not listed. I assume that this is because the
results of the previous quarters' monitoring events will dictate the
compounds for the next quarter. I also assume that you will be
discussing this with the Regional Board.
Section 6.0: Investigation Results
In addition to a final report covering one year's worth of activities,
you will need to submit brief quarterly reports showing the results of
each round of groundwater sampling.
The rest of the workplan is approved as written. Please either respond in
writing to the questions I have raised, or discuss the issues with me over the
telephone. I can be reached at (916) 361-5704. I look forward to hearing
from you as soon as possible.
WENDY WYELS
Ag Regulatory Unit
cc: Mr. Kurt Neuharth, PureGro, Stockton
Ms. Elinore Ratliffe, San Joaquin County Environmental Health, Stockton
