Adrienne Ellsaesser [EH]
From: Nuel Henderson [EH]
Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 1:55 PM
To: Adrienne Ellsaesser [EH]
Subject: FW: cps Stockton revised well wplan
Attachments: 20120224 RBK Stockton Revised RAP Well WP.pdf
FYI
From: Amy Terrell [mailto:aterrell@waterboards.ca.gov]
Sent: Tuesday, February 28, 2012 12:01 PM
To: Brian.Duggan@cpsagu.com
Cc: tieonard@rubikenvironmental.com; Nuel Henderson [EH]
Subject: cps stockton revised well wplan
Dear Mr. Duggan,
Thank you for providing the 24 February 2012 Revised Monitoring Well Destruction and Construction Scope of Work
(revised work plan) prepared by Rubik Environmental for the Crop Production Services site in Stockton, at 1905 North
Broadway. California Regional Water Quality Control Board, Central Valley Region (Central Valley Water Board) staff
reviewed the revised work plan and concur with the revised proposal, which is attached.
The Work Plan incorporates the changes to the well destruction technique requested in Central Valley Water Board
staffs 20 January 2012 letter. Monitoring well MW-2 is proposed to be destroyed by overdrilling, instead of by pressure
grouting. In addition, Crop Production Services has changed the configuration for Monitoring well pairs MW-2A/B, MW-
22A/B, MW-23A/B and MW-24A/B from nested wells to independently constructed wells. Central Valley Water Board
appreciate CPS acting on the suggestion.
Central Valley Water Board staff concur with the revised work plan. The wells shall be destroyed and installed according
to San Joaquin County regulations. Pursuant to a 28 February 2012 schedule update from Mr. Todd Leonard of Rubik
Environmental, the wells are scheduled to be installed either March 26, or 2 April 2012. Central Valley Water Board staff
have agreed to allow Crop Production Service to conduct semi-annual monitoring in April, in order to sample the new
wells and the current wells on the same schedule. The due date for the semi-annual monitoring report is extended to 1
June 2012 in order to include the new monitoring data.
If you have any questions, you may contact me as follows.
Amy Terrell
Regional Water Quality Control Board
Central Valley Region
11020 Sun Center Drive Suite 200
Rancho Cordova, CA 95670-6114
(916)464-4680
aterrell aawaterboards.ca.00v
i
