First Street <br /> f' G i <br /> Ripon, CA .95366 <br /> Dear Mr. Compton: ;! <br /> As you are aware from our recent discussions, we need to install <br /> ,'I <br /> and have access to seven additional groundwater monitoring wells <br /> on the city' s property in Ripon, CA. These wells are, required j <br /> by the Centrals Valley Regional Water Quality Control Board I� <br /> (CVRWQCB) as part of an ongoing investigation to evaluate the <br /> extent of organic chemical migration in the aquifers in the <br /> area. <br /> Pritcher Drilling Company, has been retained by Nestle Foods to it <br /> drill these monitoring wells, and they are being provided with <br /> engineering and hydrogeological -expertise by the consulting firm <br /> of Camp Dresser and McKee. Both of these firms carry all appro- <br /> priate insurance coverage for this type of work. <br /> These monitoring wells will be located in Ripon, CA. Three <br /> I ' <br /> will be located in the alley between 2nd & 3rd Sts. , approxi- <br /> mately 75 feet west of S. Walnut Ave. and three will be located <br /> on S. Acacia Ave. , approximately 150 feet south of the southern i <br /> boundary at 923 South Acacia. They will be drilled to a depth !� <br /> of 40 feet, 120 feet, and 240 feet at each location. The seventh <br /> well will be located in the alley between N. Walnut and <br /> N. Stockton, approximately 120 feet north of Main St. where - ' <br /> currently two rhonitoring wells are located. This well will be <br /> drilled to a depth of 240 feet. All wells will be finished off II <br /> flush to the ground. Each well will be locked to prevent <br /> unauthorized access. Water samples collected from the well will k <br /> be analyzed byIEPA method with specific emphasis on the deter- <br /> mination of concentrations on: <br /> trichloroethylene, 1,1,1-trichloroethane, trans-1, 2-dichloro- <br /> ethylene, and vinyl chloride.
