(QCI) is submitting this scope of
work for the above referenced project under San Joaquin County
Ordinance No. 1862. Our firm has been retained by Simpson Paper
Company to perforri''soil borings on a levee separating two holding
ponds.
The drilling will proceed with a B53 Mobile Drill Frig, utilizing
six-inch hollow stem auger. The levee where the drilling is to be
performed is actually a stable roadway that will support the drill
rig and crew. A maximum of 16 borings will be drilled (four
borings in four sections) along the levee surface. Drilling will
commence. to a maximum depth of 15 ft for each boring. However, if #
groundwater is encountered on the first boring, the drilling depth
will be revised and terminated five ft above this first
groundwater. Additionally, if groundwater is encountered in this
first boring, bentonite powder will be utilized to form a basal A
plug in the saturated section of the boring. This phreatic zone
will be determined with a water level meter.
There is no reason to suspect any form of contamination; therefore,
the borings terminated above groundwater will be backfilled with <'
the auger cuttings.
f
Our reports and 1¢t;Crs are submitted aL the confidential property of our ciients far their vxcluslve use.Any publie.atlnn Or rgprpdpction of slatements,cone€v!51ons or extracts lroM or
r99ktrdlrrq aur reports or lattvr,^,ig reserved, conliNent upOn She writtgn authorization of Quality Contmi inspection,Inc.
