The property is located in San
Joaquin County, near the City of Tracy, California. Chevron's Old Valley Pipeline(OVP) was
located in the railroad right-of-way adjacent to the northern boundary of the property. The former
OVP transported heavy petroleum (crude and fuel oil) from the early 1900's to the 1950's. A gas
station was formerly located along the southern border of the property. Contaminants detected in
soil and/or groundwater include polynuclear aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), and benzene,
ethylbenzene, toluene, and xylenes (BTEX).
Previously HERD reviewed the September 1999, "Soil and Groundwater Investigation and
Screening Human Health Risk Evaluation, Pombo Property(San Joaquin County APN 232-170-
07), 1755 West 11 th Street, Tracy, California" prepared for Chevron by Geomatrix Consultants.
HERD's comments by Dr. David Berry were provided in a March 14, 2000 memorandum. Most
recently HERD reviewed the December 2000, "Report of Additional Soil and Groundwater
Investigation, Pombo Property (San Joaquin County APN 232-170-07), 1755 West I I1 Street,
Tracy, California" and the October 4, 2001 "Results of the Updated Human Health Screening j
Risk Evaluation, Pombo Property (San Joaquin County APN 232-170-07), 1755 West 1 1`h Street,
i
I
Califcrn: a Environmental Protection Agency
4 Printed on Recycled Paper
