(Geomatrix),has prepared this.letter to respond to comments <br /> provided by the Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC)Human and Ecological <br /> Risk Division(HERD)to ChevronTexaco dated January 2,2002, regarding its review of <br /> Report of Additional Soil and Groundwater Investigation, Pombo Property(San Joaquin <br /> County APN 232-170-07), 1755 West 11th Street, Tracy, California (December 2000), and <br /> Results of the Updated Human Health Screening Risk Evaluation, Pombo Property(San <br /> Joaquin County APN 232-170-07), 1755 West I1 th Street, Tracy, California (October 4, <br /> 2001). <br /> Geomatrix originally prepared a soil and investigation reports that included a human health <br /> screening evaluation dated January 17, 2000. DTSC provided comments on the evaluation in <br /> a memorandum dated March 14, 2000. Geomatrix responded to these comments in a letter <br /> dated March 29, 2000 and DTSC concurred with the findings of the evaluation in a April 27, <br /> 2000 letter. The October 2001 updated human health screening risk evaluation that is the <br /> subject of the current review was prepared by Geomatrix. The October 2001 evaluation <br /> included additional data that were collected subsequent to the completion of the January 2000 <br /> evaluation. <br /> Responses to each HERD comment pertaining to Geomatrix's October 2001 updated <br /> evaluation are presented below following the individual comment in the letter and as <br /> discussed during the April 22, 2002 meeting between ChevronTexaco,DTSC, and Geomatrix. <br /> GENERAL COMMENTS <br /> 1.
