Vapor Extraction System Sample Calculations <br /> Moore Petroleum,Inc, 1399 E Yosemite Ave.Manteca,CA <br /> ' In the case of February 24, 1995, the average daily extraction rate of TPK as gasoline, for the <br /> period between December 7, 1994 and February 24, 1995 is found by averaging the daily <br /> extraction rate on December 7, 1994 and February 24, 1995 Thus is done as follows <br /> (0 27 lb +0 23 Ib ) <br /> day day -0 25 lb TPH,as gasoline <br /> 2 day <br /> t <br /> The result is 0 25 lb/day of TPH, as gasoline This method may be applied to the benzene <br /> ' extraction rates for this same period resulting in 0 00215 lb/day of benzene These average <br /> extraction rates may be applied over the time period of interest From December 7, 1994 to <br /> February 24, 1995, the vapor extraction system operated for 1,065 8 hours The operating rime <br /> may be converted to wits of days and then multiplied by the average daily extraction rate for each <br /> substance of interest The result is as follows <br /> TPH asasoline 0 25 lb x1065 8hrsx 1 day =11 lb <br /> ' g day 24 hrs <br /> lb x1065 8hrsx 1 day =0 095 lb <br /> Benzene 0 00215 day 106 24 hrs <br /> Therefore, from the period of December 7, 1994 through February 24, 1995, 11 pounds of TPH, <br /> ' as gasoline, was extracted and 0 095 pounds of benzene was extracted To calculate the <br /> cumulative quantity of extracted substances,the quantity extracted for a period will be added to <br /> the previous cumulative quantity extracted for each substance In the case of TPH, as gasoline, <br /> 11 pounds will be added to 200 pounds, which will yield 211 pounds, keeping sigmficant digits in <br /> mid In the case of benzene, 0 095 pounds willbe added to 0 70 pounds to yield 0 80 pounds of <br /> ' benzene <br /> 1 <br />
