• Direct customers away from the spill. <br /> • Set up barricades around the spill. <br /> Step 2: Report the Spill <br /> The second step in responding to a fuel spill is to call the appropriate authority and report it. <br /> Like we said before, if the spill is small and easily cleaned up you don't have to report it. But <br /> if the spill meets any of the following criteria, you will need to report it to the proper <br /> authority. <br /> • If the spill entered a storm drain you must call the fire department and Flying )'s <br /> POS Help Desk. <br /> • If the spill was caused by an accident between two vehicles you must report the <br /> accident to the police and collect information from the drivers. <br /> • If the spill is over 5 gallons, you must report it to the POS help desk. <br /> • And if requested, send documentation and information to the Flying ] Environmental <br /> Department. <br /> Lets' look at each of these situations in more detail. <br /> 8 <br />
