Beginning January 1, 2013, all businesses are required to submit all new(or any changes to existing) <br /> hazardous waste information online to the CERS at http://cers.calepa.ca.gov. Be sure to include your hazardous <br /> waste activity in the Businesses Activities section in CERS in addition to any other relevant activities and required <br /> fields. <br /> This is a Class II violation. <br /> 301 CCR 66262.34(d)(2) Facility not maintained to minimize the release of a hazardous waste. <br /> -Several puddles of oil were observed on the ground in the outside shop area on the south side of the building and <br /> under the hazardous waste storage area. <br /> -A puddle of antifreeze was observed on the top of an empty antifreeze drum on the south side of the building in the <br /> outside shop area. <br /> -Four red metal 55 gallon drums of used and new oil were observed in the hazardous waste storage with puddles of <br /> oil on top of the drums. <br /> Facilities shall be maintained and operated to minimize the possibility of a fire, explosion,or release of hazardous <br /> waste to air, soil, or surface water which could threaten human health or the environment. Immediately clean up the <br /> oil and antifreeze spills and manage according to Title 22 hazardous waste regulations. Submit a statement and <br /> supporting documentation explaining how this waste was managed. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> 605 CCR 66262.34(f) Failed to completely label containers or portable tanks of hazardous waste. <br /> -One 55 gallon black metal drum of used paper filters was observed with a faded, unreadable label on the south <br /> side of the building in the outside shop area. <br /> -One 55 gallon black metal drum of used metal filters was observed without a label on the south side of the building <br /> in the outside shop area. <br /> All hazardous waste containers shall be marked with the following information: <br /> -the words"Hazardous Waste" <br /> -name and address of generator <br /> -hazardous properties <br /> -physical state <br /> -composition (contents) <br /> -accumulation start date <br /> Immediately label these containers and ensure that all hazardous waste containers are marked with all the required <br /> information. <br /> This is a minor violation. <br /> Overall Inspection Comments: <br /> An inspection checklist was provided to the facility operator on the day of inspection.
