26 February 2016
AGE -05-1339
gauge and thickness discussed in Section 2.1.3. The approximate rectangular AST
width, height and length are 35 -inch (outside double walled), 63 -inch and 125 -inch,
respectively. The AST ancillary equipment is discussed in Section 2.1.4.
3.2. VISUAL INSPECTION
The visual inspection [22CCR§66264.193(e)(2)] of the AST was conducted by an AGE
representative on 12 February 2016. The AST exterior surface did not reveal signs of
leaks, corrosion, weld cracks; weld breaks or scrapes in coating which may cause a
release from the AST system. A visual assessment summary is included as Table 3.
4.0. HYDROSTATIC TEST
The hydrostatic test [22CCR§66265.192(k)(10)] is conducted to verify the AST primary
tank and secondary shell will not leak. The test was conducted by representatives of
AGE on 12 February 2016. Test results are provided in Table 4.
4.1. HYDROSTATIC TEST PROCEDURE
The five (5) AST primary ports and four (4) secondary ports are temporarily sealed to
maintain an inner constant pressure. A regulator with pressure valve was attached to
one opening of the primary AST compartment. Air pressure was applied with a
compressor ranging between approximately 3 pounds per square inch (psi) to the
primary; additionally air pressure was applied with a compressor ranging between
approximately 2.2 psi testing of the secondary followed successful results from the
primary tank test. The approximate AST ports and respective locations are shown on
Figure 1.
4.2. HYDROSTATIC TEST RESULTS
The hydrostatic test results indicated the primary AST tank and secondary shell did not
leak at the time of the test. Pressure readings were collected every fifteen minutes for
one hour from the primary and secondary. No fluctuation in pressure was recorded
during the test. Test results are provided in Table 4.
