XAFERXES
CORPORATION
making a lasting difference'
April 10, 2018
Terry Hesseltine Cc: Rick Whately, Xerxes
E-mail: thesseltinegdimensiongrp.com
Re: One 10-foot-diameter 20,000-gallon Double-Wall Tank (wet interstice)
One 10-foot-diameter 12k x 8k-gallon Double-Wall MCT (wet interstice)
Buoyancy Calc— 7-Eleven #38153 - Stockton, CA (W Market & Center St)
Dear Terry:
We have summarized the buoyancy data you requested. All of the calculations are
based on the site data you have provided to us and on nominal engineering values
for the physical parameters.
All of the calculations are based on standard engineering practice. We use
approaches in a manner similar to the protocols presented in the PEI/RP 100-17
manual to calculate the underground tank Buoyancy Safety Factors.
It is the tank owner's responsibility to determine the suitability and applicability of
installation. Our sole responsibility in any installation is as stated in our Limited
Warranty.
Our calculations show that, given the installation parameters that you have provided
to us (calculated with the tank empty, burial depth of 4 feet 9 inches, the water
table at the finished grade, and anchored with factory-supplied deadmen) the
Buoyancy Safety Factors are as follows:
Tank Buoyancy Safety Factor
10-foot-diameter 20,000-gallon Double-Wall Tank 1.52:1
10-foot-diameter 12k x 8k-gallon Double-Wall MCT 1.46:1
We recommend a minimum Buoyancy Safety Factor of 1.20:1. I have included
copies of the worksheets for your files.
If we can be of additional assistance, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
4
Te finder Singh
RECE11V`ED
J 9
Design Engineer-Sales Support OCT 2 5 2018
Attachment - 2
ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH
DEPARTMENT
7901 Xerxes Avenue South • Minneapolis • Minnesota • United States • 55431-1288
Ph: 952-887-1890 • Fax: 952-887-1870 •Web: www.xerxes.com
