Hazelton Avenue
Stockton, CA 95201
SUBJECT: Soil Vapor Survey at Tower Park Marina
Dear Mr. Wilson:
Per your request, the following is a brief description of an active soil
vapor survey to be performed as part of a property transfer evaluation at
Tower Park Marina in Terminous, California, on Friday, December 11, 1987.
Western Geo Monitors of Woodland, California will sample 20--30 locations
of soil vapors, using a 5/8" diameter probe at, an approximate depth of 3
feet, in locations of potential concern designated on the attached permit
application plot plan. The sample will be analyzed immediately by an
onsite mobile laboratory using a portable field gas chromatograph (GC)
equipped with a photoionization detector (PID) , and a flame ionization
detector (FID) , to assess concentrations of total volatile organics (TVO)
present in the soil atmosphere.
A report will be generated upon completion of the sample analyses and a
copy of the results will be given to the San Joaquin Local Health
District.
Upon completion of the survey work, all sample points will be backfilled
to surface grade with bentonite powder.
Due to the short time frame required for completion of this evaluation, we
would - greatly appreciate . your prompt attention . to the attached
environmental health permit application. The lending institution has
granted only 2.5 weeks for completion of this project.
Thank you for your cooperation.
i
Sincerely,
KLEINFELDER
Michael J.
