In addition, direct push technology generates no drill cuttings.
GROUNDWATER SAMPLE COLLECTION
After soil sampling is completed, the probe pipes are removed and groundwater samples will then be
collected from the borings. The fresh formation water entering the boring will be sampled directly
from the Geoprobe® borings so no purging will be required. One groundwater sample will be
collected from each of the five borings.
Upon completion of groundwater sampling activities, the boreholes will be grouted to the surface
with Portland cement.
ANALYTICAL PROCEDURES
The soil and groundwater samples will be transported under chain-of-custody documentation to a
state certified analytical laboratory for analysis of
Analysis Abbreviation I Designation USEPA Method No.
Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons TPHg Aromatic 8015 Modred
as Gasoline H drocarbon
Benzene
Toluene Tomatic
Eth benzene BTEXlatile 8020
X enes otal anics
Tertiary Butyl Alcohol TBA
Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether MTBE Five Fuel
Diiso ro Ether DIPE Oxygenates
Eth Tertia B Ether ETBE 82608
Tertiary Amyi Methyi Ether TAME
1,2-Dichloroethane 1,2-DCA Lead
Ethylene dibromide EDB Scavengers
