tw
Y,
i
Lodi Ready Mix
Soil Sampling Report
i Project No.:01-93.1
November 12,1991
Page 2
Laboratory Analyses
The soil samples were submitted to GeoAnalytical Laboratories WE757) of
Modesto,CA for analysis.
Ten discrete soil samples were collected (one from each pile) and analyzed for
benzene, toluene, ethyl benzene, total xylene (BTEX), total petroleum
hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPH GasoIine), and total extractable petroleum
hydrocarbons (TEPH)• Four soil samples were collected from random locations
and composited into one sample to be analyzed for 5 metals (Ca, Cr, Pb, Ni, Zn).
Four soil samples were collected from random locations and are being held at the
laboratory for possible Bioassay analysis.
The detection limits for these analyses are as follows: BTEX is 5.0 Ag/kg (parts per
billion-ppb), TPH Gasoline is 2.5 mg/kg (parts per million-ppm), TEPH are
kerosene-5.0 ppm, diesel-5.0 ppm, and motor oil-50 ppm, the 5 metals are Ca-0.5
ppm,Cr-1.0 ppm,Pb-5.0 ppm,Ni-2.5 ppm,and Zn-2.5 ppm.
Discussion of Analytical Data
As the analytical data indicate, only two soil samples had contamination as
hydrocarbons (soil pile #3 had 200 ppm of diesel and soil pile #8 had 50 ppm
motor oil, just at detection limit) The metals found in the soil are not
significant levels, and are believed to represent background levels. The source
for the metals in the soil are most likely the metamorphic volcanic source rocks
to the East in the Sierra Nevada Range.
Aromatic Hydrocarbon and Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons as Gasoline Analyses
Sample ID Benzene Toluene Ethyl Benzene Xylenes Gasoline
/ /k /k /k
Soil l ND ND ND ND ND
Soil ND ND ND ND ND
Soil ND ND ND NDI ND
Soil ND ND ND ND ND
w- Soil ND ND ND ND ND
Soil ND ND ND ND ND
Soil ?
