GEOTECHNICAL
ENGEO ENVIRONMENTAL
WATER RESOURCES
I N C O R P O R A T E D CONSTRUCTION SERVICES
Project No.
9225.000.000
April 1, 2011
Mr. Michael Infurna
Environmental Health Department, San Joaquin County
600 East Main Street
Stockton, California 95202
Subject: 21930 Austin Road
APN 228-090-08
Ripon,California
WORK PLAN FOR GROUNDWATER LEVEL STUDY
Dear Mr. Infurna:
As requested by our client, Austin Road Partners, LLC, ENGEO has prepared this work plan for a
groundwater level study of the subject property, located on the east side of Austin Road in
unincorporated Ripon, California(Figures 1 and 2). We present this work plan to the San Joaquin
County Environmental Health Department and request approval to perform the services
described below.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION AND SCOPE
The first phase of the project will include an approximately 30-acre stormwater basin. To
determine the approximate depth to groundwater and the design high groundwater elevation, we
plan to perform the following scope of services.
We will utilize the services of a licensed drilling contractor to install one groundwater
piezometer to be located adjacent to the proposed basin for the purpose of monitoring
groundwater elevations and depths to groundwater. Soil samples will be collected for field soil
classification only. The piezometer will extend to a depth of approximately 30 feet below
existing grade. At least 48 hours prior to drilling the boring, we will mark the site for an
Underground Service Alert (USA) utilities check. The piezometer will be permitted, installed,
and backfilled in accordance with San Joaquin County requirements.
The piezometer will be screened between 10 and 30 feet below the ground surface (bgs). The
screen and casing will consist of 2-inch-diameter slotted Schedule 40 PVC pipe. We will extend
the well casing between 2 to 3 feet above the ground surface and install a steel standpipe to
protect the well casing. A piezometer detail is provided on Figure 3
580 N.Wilma Avenue,Suite A •Ripon,CA 95366•(209)835-0610•Fax(888)279-2698
www.engeo.com
