GEOTECHNICAL INVESTIGATION REPORT
ARCO An1/PI\1 MINJ MARKET FACILITY
ARCH ROAD AND KINGSLEY AVENUE
STOCKTON, CALIFORNIA
I. INTRODUCTION
This report presents the results of a geotechnical investigation for the proposed ARCO
AM/PM Mini Market facility to be located on the southeast quadrant of Arch Road and
Kingsley Avenue in Stockton, California. Our work was coordinated with Mr. Peter B.
Tobin of Barghausen Consulting Engineers, Inc.
i
A. Project Description
The proposed development is a new ARCO AM/PM Mini Market and gas station facility.
The facility will consist of a Mini-Market store building, twb pump islands and a canopy, j
four underground storage tanks, asphalt pavements, landscaping, and a facility sign. The
Mini-Market building will be an one-story wood-frame structure with concrete slab-on-grade
floor. Detailed building structural information was not available at the time this'report was
prepared, however, we anticipate light building loads that will not exceed 2,000 pounds per
linear foot of wall for wall loads and 10 kipper column for column loads.
B. Purpose and Scope of Work I
The purpose of this investigation was to determine the feasibility of the proposed development
with respect to site soil and geological characteristics and to provide recommendations and
opinions concerning the following items:
f
• Site preparation and grading;
• Foundation system;
• Concrete slab-on-grade; k
• Lateral earth pressures;
i
i
Page 1 of 17
i
