Dehydration, or the loss of body <br /> fluids, occurs in the cold environment and may increase the <br /> susceptibility of the worker to cold injury due to a <br /> significant change in blood flow to the extremities. Warm <br /> sweet drinks and soups should be provided at the work site to <br /> provide caloric intake and fluid volume. The intake of coffee <br /> should be limited.
