PHSIEHD has reviewed site status
and has prepared the following comments for your consideration.
PHSIEHD stated in correspondence dated August 29, 1995 that once the repairs to the
monitoring wells were completed that groundwater samples should be collected for analysis
and the results submitted to PHSIEHD. The most recent analytical results from the
groundwater monitoring wells were obtained from samples collected in May 1994 and
reported in the Ninyo & Moore report dated September 23, 1994. Please collect groundwater
samples for laboratory analysis by August 15, 1996.
As you are aware the static groundwater level has risen approximately five feet within the last
two years. This poses particular problems with regard to monitoring well construction. Once
monitoring well, MW11, is re-drilled, there will be nine monitoring wells. For your information,
PHSIEHD has summarized available well construction details to evaluate the monitoring
capabilities at your site.
Well ID Total Depth Screened Interval
MW9 71 feet 67 - 42 (25 feet)
MW11 78 feet 78 - 63 (15 feet)
MW12 78 feet 78 - 63 (15 feet)
MW13 90 feet 90 - 65 (25 feet)
MW14 85 feet 85 - 65 (25 feet)
MW16 91 feet 91 - 66 (25 feet)
MW19 90 feet 90 - 65 (25 feet)
MW20 90 feet 90 - 65 (25 feet)
MW24 94 feet 89 - 64 (25 feet)
In the last report submitted for this site, Ninyo and Moore (9123194) indicated that given the
then current depth to water (approximately 65 feet) monitoring wells, MW13, MW14, MW16,
MW19, and MW20, may not be screened through the groundwater surface and accordingly
the depth to groundwater may not be representative of site conditions. if this were true in
1994, it would be more so in 1996 given the continued rise of the depth to groundwater.
A Division of San Joaquin County Health Care Services
