R10/71-51-1C
o Drilling of 11 new soil boreholes and converting six of these boreholes into
groundwater monitoring wells The new wells are MW13, MW14, MW16,
MW19, MW20, and MW24
1 o ix of Development p s new groundwater wells,
o Measurement of water levels in the new and old wells,
1 o Sampling of newly-installed wells
Tables 10A through 10P (see Appendix C) tabulate analytical results on sod samples at
each sampling horizon Soil samples were initially collected at depth of 1 25 or 1 5 feet
below grade and then at every five feet below grade thereafter In general, the following
sampling locations have non-detectable to low levels of gasoline-derived contaminants
including benzene, toluene and xylenes SB15, MW16, SB18, MW19, MW20, SB22, SB23
and MW24 The following sampling locations have varying levels of gasoline-derived
contaminants at different horizons MW13, MW14, and SB17 These latter locations are
around the gravel area where underground tanks were removed in the past
Moderate levels of gasoline-derived contaminants are found in MW13 from approximately
35 feet to 55 feet below the surface
In MW14, the concentration of contaminants appear to increase going down from lust
beneath the surface, maximizing between 25 to 40 feet below grade, and then at
decreased levels down to 70 feet below grade
High levels of gasoline-derived contaminants are found in SB17 at 40 and 45 feet below
grade At this location, gasoline-derived contaminants range from non-detectable
to low levels above 40 feet and high level below 45 feet It is only in SB17 where diesel
contamination was found (at a concentration of 1,800 ug/kg at 1 5 feet below grade)
No halogenated volatile organics were detected in all soil samples tested
Sod samples in locations SB22 and SB23 were tested for total chromium Results P esu s for all
samples tested are lower than the Total Threshold Limit Concentrations (TTLC) of 2,500
mg/kg and 500 mg/kg for Cr (111) and Cr (IV), respectively All results are also lower than
ten times the Soluble Threshold Limit Concentrations (STLC) of Cr (111) and Cr (VI) which
are 5,600 mg/kg and 50 mg/kg, respectively Hence, the Waste Extraction Test was not
performed on these samples No polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) were found in sod
samples from SB22 No gasoline-derived contaminants were found in sample from SB22
2
