5 . 4 Results of Ground Water Analysis
Analytical results of water samples are discussed below and
included in Table 2 . Figure 4 shows the distribution of
dissolved-phase hydrocarbons in ground water. Results of ground
water analysis are discussed below:
TPH-G was detected in water samples collected from MW-10 at
5, 600 ppb and MW--11 at 420 ppb.
* Benzene was detected in water samples collected from
MW-10 at 920 ppb and MW-11 at 33 ppb.
6. 0 CONCLUSIONS
The conclusions based on the results of this subsurface
investigation are summarized below:
o Based on analytical results of soil samples , the
adsorbed-phase hydrocarbons appear to be limited to the area
of the former underground fuel tank cavity at an approximate
depth of 46 fbg (Figure 2) .
o The source of adsorbed-phase and dissolved-phase petroleum
hydrocarbons appears to be the former underground fuel tanks
. and/or associated pipelines.
o The estimated extent of dissolved-phase hydrocarbons
in ground water could not be assessed beneath the southwest
limit of the site since ground water was not encountered in
MW-5 .
o Ground water beneath the site in the vicinity of the former
underground fuel tank cavity and downgradient, southeast of
the former tank cavity has been impacted by dissolved-phase
hydrocarbons.
I
I
i
5
